Seize the Day

Celebrate the triumph of the human spirit with Seize the Day! A young man’s coming of age story in Harlem was told using the poetry of Langston Hughes set to a world premiere commission by Ricky Ian Gordon. Rousing Broadway music from Pippin’ and Newsies told stories of courage and optimism. Stephen Schwartz (Wicked, Godspell, Pippin') used lyrics from the It Gets Better project in his inspirational piece Testimony.

Divas Unleashed

Music from Barbra, Cher and Judy was a given – plus Britney, Lady Gaga and Adele with tributes to Whitney and Donna. Of course there were some BGMC surprises as well. Pride was celebrated with this song and dance salute to our Divas!
