Brandie Garcia

Development and Stewardship Coordinator

Brandie Garcia (They/He) is a development professional who brings experience in annual giving and development operations with a background in culturally-driven institutions. They serve as the Development and Stewardship Coordinator of the Boston Gay Men’s Chorus, where they assist in cultivating vital relationships within the organization and enacting BGMC’s celebration of difference within the Greater Boston community. Originally from Chelsea, MA – Brandie was always interested in the power of music as a form of liberation and tool of protest. As a result, they earned a Bachelor’s of Arts from Brandeis University in Black Music Studies & Latin American, Caribbean, and Latinx Studies with a minor in Theater Arts. Approaching development from a critical lens of culturally competent music history and expression, Brandie believes in the power of giving as a form of community care and union that helps transcend the lines of racial and socioeconomic division. With this framework, Brandie has been able to assist music-based organizations such as Castle of Our Skins and the Handel and Haydn Society in their development-based efforts. Outside of their work, Brandie can be found listening to music, playing video games at home, attending music-based social events in the area, or attending balls in Boston’s ballroom Kiki scene.
